Arcadia 2025: Productivity Improvements That Add Up

Over the past year, we have been focused on one clear goal with Arcadia: helping engineers design schematics faster, with less friction and more confidence.

From major performance gains to workflow refinements, these updates are all about saving time on the actions you perform every day. Here is a look back at some of the key improvements delivered throughout the year.

Inline Connector Performance Revamp

Inline connector interactions are now significantly faster across the board.

  • Placing inline connectors is up to 5× faster, and up to 7× faster for connectors with more than 50 pins.
  • Moving inline connectors is up to 7× faster, and up to 10× faster for large pin counts.
  • Adding wire breaks is up to 1.25× faster.

The result is a smoother, more responsive schematic experience for core component tasks.

Move Bend Group

You can now select and move multiple wire bends together while preserving alignment and connectivity. No more adjusting bends one by one.

This means faster wire path edits, better layout control, and improved design accuracy.

Quick Route

Wire routing has been streamlined with a simple shortcut. After selecting source and destination pins, you can now press the space bar to complete the wire instead of clicking through the property manager.

Same workflow, fewer clicks, faster results.

Add Multiple Wire Breaks

Managing off sheet connections is easier with the ability to add wire breaks to multiple wires in one action.

This makes it simpler to design on a single sheet and move connections across sheets when needed.

Bundle Operations Performance

Bundle adjustments are now much quicker.

Rotate Bundle and Bend Bundle operations on bundles with 65 to 250 connections are between 3× and 7× faster, helping large designs stay responsive.

Schematic Performance Improvements

Group move and group delete operations for inline connectors have seen major speedups, especially when working with large pin counts and housing enabled.

In some cases, group delete performance is up to 25× faster.

Schematic Log Revamp

Schematic activity logs have been reworked with a new structured format that provides clearer, unambiguous traceability of user actions.

This significantly improves debugging, data consistency, and overall support effectiveness when investigating schematic changes.

Auto Arrange in Formboard

Auto Arrange, previously available only in Harness, is now supported in the Formboard.

It automatically organises component cavity tables and images based on node positions, making formboard layouts easier to work with and quicker to clean up.

All of these updates share the same purpose: reducing friction so you can stay focused on design, not the tool.

If you are already using Arcadia, make sure you are taking advantage of these improvements. If you are not, now is a great time to see how Arcadia can speed up your schematic workflows. Get in touch or request a demo today.
